We offer in-person and online cesarean specific recovery exercise programming options. Our cesarean program has an emphasis on neuromuscular reintegration of deep core abdominals with lower extremities and core stabilization training. We incorporate progressive strength training, that starts with body weight movements and slowly adds a load with resistance bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, and eventually, a barbell. We offer one-on-one and group support for scar mobilization with Casey Backus, Physical Therapist, both by appointment and online through our webinar offerings.

Local Support:

Every class listing has the cesarean program option as a drop-in or member! Our studio operates in an open gym format, where every client chooses their program and works through it at their own pace under the guidance of a certified MamasteFit coach. Come to class and let the coach know that you want to do the cesarean program, and we will walk you through the programming days.

Online/Distance Support:

We offer our cesarean exercise program online in two formats!

Our first option is the 4-week stand alone program that is only the Cesarean Specific Recovery Exercise Program. Our second option is the 16-week program that includes the 4-week Cesarean Specific Recovery Exercise Program and Cesarean Scar Mobilization Webinar. The 16-week program combines our Postpartum Return to Fitness Program and our Cesarean Specific Recovery Exercise Program.

We offer our Cesarean Scar Mobilization Webinar as a standalone program, as well! The Cesarean Scar Mobilization Webinar is taught by Casey Backus, Physical Therapist and C-section Mom of 2!

The program focuses on cesarean specific recovery techniques which have been tested by our own postpartum C-section clients and refined by our coaching staff to optimize results. These exercises focus on recreating a connection between the upper and lower body.

This program can continue with our 16-week Postpartum Return to Fitness, but this is only the first four weeks that focus specifically on cesarean recovery.

The program includes:

  • Core Stabilization Training

  • Balance Training

  • Return to Dynamic Movement (Running, Jumping)

  • Strength Training

  • Cardio Training

This program requires general gym equipment such as dumbbells and resistance bands, but can be completed at home by substituting equipment as necessary.

This program is appropriate for mothers who are at least 6-weeks postpartum and cleared by their medical provider. In addition, this program is not a replacement for seeking rehabilitative care from a physical therapist or medical provider.
